I went with my family at Padre Pio Shrine at Batangas, Philippines and it was actually a pretty good place. I think it's safe to say that 85% of the materials that was used to build the place is wood, mainly bamboos (though it's considered grass).
I've seen a lot of churches here and majority of the architectural styles of the old churches are Baroque style which are basically built during the Spanish colonization. However, what I did like about the place is that it has a strong vibe of traditional Filipino house in it: the place, the materials and the architectural style. The statues are quite impressive also (I really hate disproportionate statues).
