Ello y'all, and many thanks to @dshirlaw for the invite. (of course, there is no "y'all" yet)
First impressions: Like a more spacious Twitter crossed with Tumblr (seems like well-crafted words and beautiful images are going to win big here) without the functionality that makes posts shareable within the platform itself, i.e. retweeting/reblogging.
According to the Feature List, "Repost w/ author attribution" is coming - so that'll be good.
If I was to be optimistic, I'd hope that the whitespace and minimalism will encourage more thoughtfulness/care with posting (with apologies for the Lionel reference below). If I was pessimistic I'd worry that there might not be enough activity to justify another social media account.
Still, at least it's better than Google Plus.
