Most of my crochet is not overtly political, but designed more to bring comfort or smiles. It's my personal projects that I don't share as often that are more fitting for the #ElloCelebratesDiversity project.
My queerness has been rendered mostly invisible because I happened to fall in love with and marry a man. Unless I happen to be wearing something that outs me, I'm in far greater danger from the white nationalist scum emboldened by our president to come out of the shadows and openly and violently express their opinions because I'm Jewish, disabled, and a woman with a mind of her own.
Here I share my favorite Rainbow Pride hat, my Safety Pin hat, and my Resist Pussyhat. All are worked in Tunisian crochet (often mistaken for knitting) using a double ended colorwork in the round method developed by designer Lily Chin.
