It was Father's Day yesterday. One of my least favourite days of the year due to the fact that I get sad and remember it's been just over 4 years since I lost you dad, I miss you a lot. Thanks for being the best dad I could have had for the portion of my childhood you were there for, you will always be with me wherever I go.
my wish is for you not be angry or sad. life goes on, i do have a few things i want from you. i want you to always try in everything you do. Don’t believe what others say but believe in yourself and do what you know is right. You become whatever you want, any profession is honorable. always be truthful, honest and fair to others. Never treat women less than your equals. Don’t do drugs or drink alcohol to excess, i really believed that these two things were my downfall and contributed to my als. They also limited me in my life's ambitions.
if you have the opportunity, go to university but if you don’t, go to a trade school - but learn as much as you can.
always remember family comes first. Don’t forget your other mom, danette. my wish is for you to continue seeing her every other weekend. she will need to see you and I think you will need to see her too. danette, may be hard on you but you need that because you have to hear, the truth. you'll figure out when you are older. She loves you. she will need your support when I'm gone.
treat your family well, never lie to them and always remember that they love you unconditionally. They will always be in your corner to support you no matter what you become. Always be truthful with them, never betray their belief in you.
remember i will always love you.
i also want you to know that I was always proud of you. You are smart and you always figure things out.
remember what ever you do with your life do it from your heart , don’t do what you think other people think you should be, it took me years to learn that lesson. you follow your own passion, become the person who makes you happy. I should have never gone to university, i should have entered culinary arts sooner because what i really loved, is cooking. Whatever you want to be, even if it's digging ditches, whatever you become you always do to the best of your ability. hard work is the key to success.
