I just got my art rejected from a gallery show for the first time because of the content of the painting. It's not like it was controversial or anything, it simply wasn't what the curator wanted. Dafuq? I was going to protest the gallery's decision and possibly "make it work", but moments like this can let you know how much someone actually cares about what you do and what they'll do to support you. So I'm moving on from that spot. Just made me realize they weren't for me.
Besides, this is the art world we're talking about here. There really are no "rules". It's better to just learn, adjust, and keep it moving. In fact, this experience has given me a completely new set of ideas to pursue.
Now go and sin no more.
