You are Turgei, the massive flying hunting hawk of a experienced Mongolian hunter Chatanay. With a wingspan taller than he is high, you soar through the air, trees and mountains in search of prey which you bring down and then lead your master to, whom you respect as an equal partner. Clearly the greatest and most competent of all the other hunters and hawks in the tribe, you and your master Chatanay lead the team with stoic expertise.
Chatanay's daughter Negan has wished to be a hunter like her father her whole life, but she is female and therefore not accepted or by the other hunters. Nonetheless, Chatanay, with your reluctant help, has tried training her in secret, so long as she promises never to pursue hunting as her path in life. Chatanay confides in you that he understands Negan will not keep her promise, and he hopes to soon bring her a hawk chick of her own to raise and train- surely talent such as Negan's can't be ignored.
One storming night, Negan bursts into your rook- her father Chatanay along with every other man in the village has vanished. Your mission is clear immediately: you and Negan must form a tenuous working relationship and find your master and her father before they succumbs to the elements.
you fly through mountains, through forests, extremely high, and low skimming over icy lakes. Gameplay is mostly exploratory with emphasis on the novel spectacle of flying and maneouvers, sometimes you switch to Negan's POV for puzzles and climbing, and Turgei's for flying and hunting and sight-seeing. You help the young Negan learn the proper rites and etiquette of being a hunter, and from time to time guide and rescue her from the traitorous turrain, bandits and raiders, religious hermits, fun memorable characters and scary monsters like yetis, and villains that may be closer to home than you know.
And hopefully, if you both work together, you can find Chatanay again, and bring him home, as the only thing as strong as, or stronger than the bond between hawk and hunter, is the bond between father and daughter.
