The Meaning ...
We all mistake, we all fall down, and we all know pain, we cannot change the past, but we can change ourselves. Destiny, whether accepted or disbelieved, has a way of its own – in reality we all have a destiny; sometimes just to take care of a child, sometimes just to be there for another human being, sometimes just for a moment to make a difference.
Please comprehend that if you train your brain to think differently the world will change with it, and you will see that some acts of selfishness masquerade as sorrow, and yet some acts of sorrow will masquerade as selfishness. The key is discovering which is which and knowing the difference for it is a curious pain when the people who gave us the best memories become a memory themselves. Knowing that the truth is never an insult, although it may be painful, welcome the growing pains of your soul for the true meaning of understanding ushers in the truth that knowing – a truth – is but one version of reality.
Even if we do wrong, we can accept that creation is also married to destruction as that is the natural law of the universe. When we realise that we are, all of us, ultimately the ghosts of the future, perhaps not always in spirit, but certainly in the form of atoms that make our bodies, which we own for a short time and relinquish to the future, we have a duty to achieve betterment. Do not just look beyond the moment, see through it, for in the cult of self and celebrity, the competition of egos and racing rats, and the celebration of meaningless trends, things, and possessions, we are distracted from purpose. Open your eyes and realise that we are often cheated and distracted from our own personal importance; that indefinable and ineffable characteristic, for we are often like angels in the dark beating our wings against the void. We truly have importance. We have value, for we are the braying trumpets of creation, creating harmonious music in all our faults and virtues, making a heartrending mosaic of devastating beauty.
Look beyond the hurt and the razor-wire of uncertainty, beyond the snares and the barbs of guilt and shame as life is chance itself. Life, although finite, is filled with infinite potential, and the admittance of wrong is as important to evolving a higher sense rather than mere lip service to all such grand things. Unless tested, love cannot grow into a fully rounded reality, unless stretched, friendship cannot become as strong as it should be, and unless questioned lies will never be rooted out; these are the natural and normal conditions of life itself, for unconditional love has no meaning without full awareness of what that small word often conveys in the universality of all its meanings.
We all experience sorrow and regret, and yet we have a choice to either let that burn away the greatness of our souls or to express genuine repentance and potentially know serenity. Granted an apology may not always be accepted, but instead of breaking our spirit in trying to control things beyond our control, sometimes burned bridges are life’s way of forcing us to move on, and in doing so, allows us yet one more chance – not to repeat the same mistakes or errors of judgement – to simply pause and do better. For as many of us know; insanity is built by doing the same old thing while expecting a different result, whereas true change is first doing one thing differently, and then another, and another until difference becomes the consequences of new ideas. Yet, we do not have to walk away with our backs to the flames, simply pausing in recognition and accepting the truth of the flames can strip away denial and blindness and ignorance. A sincere and single act of contrition allows for the possibility of change rather than ensuring the inevitability of resentment and bitterness without it.
For remember, only selfless accountability and the universality of all that we do, think, say, and feel, is our responsibility; and our responsibility is to charge ourselves with our own accountability while understanding that the evolution of Consciousness is the necessity of every human being; we are all of us important, and if we could just see that then we would know the value of a life of infinite possibility. Yes, we all crave recognition, but first we must recognise our own importance, our own value, our own destiny, and uniqueness. Some mistakes we pay with our lives, some mistakes change us in unexpected ways, and those pains cheat the heart and deafen the soul, yet they can ignite the flames in the crucible of passion and honesty. Even the most enlightened knows sadness, but like a hammer blow on an anvil of angels, the darkness will shy away from a true eruption of soulful glitterment when the heart breaks the night of stupidity, arrogance, and conceit.
We our creations blessed and cursed with the revelations of choice; forgiveness is not given, it is earned, not by mere deeds, but by sheer determination again and again. In the act of selflessness, we willingly put ourselves on the stage of scrutiny for forgiveness is something we audition for, yet run the gauntlet of gambling our dignity against a worthier goal. So, please remember within your heart that there is no better test of our quality than to risk it all for the sake of serenity in the face of hatred. Francis Bacon once stated: "Whatever deserves to exist deserves to be discovered" and within that is the epiphany that the doorway of compassion leads to a garden of peace; the keys to unlocking the existence of a worthy life and thus, finally, to the discovery of true harmony. It exists nowhere else but within you – for all is just a state of mind.
