When we realise that we are, all of us, ultimately the ghosts of the future, perhaps not always in spirit, but certainly in the form of atoms that make our bodies, which we own for a short time and relinquish to the future, we have a duty to achieve betterment; not to be better than others, but to better ourselves. When you realise that the infinite complexity of chance, probability, and determination, fostered by a universe breathing and heaving in staggering monumental splendour, partially grasped by mathematics, physics, and philosophy, the cosmos is manifestly mesmeric and bewildering; those uncountable series of events, dating back to the time of the first spark in an ocean of darkness, cosmic chaos ordering itself, and a myriad of incalculable atoms; forming stars and then planets, and then life. Our collective and innumerable ancestors, all come together in you. Coming together to define a moment in space and time, leading us to a place wherein we either fail or succeed, but for the chance to do better and invest the future with the seeds of ourselves. Give yourself a chance to know immortality and immortality will know you, for only then shall you realise the legacy that you may bequeath the future.
