What is Mysa?
Mysa is a Swedish word, with many resonances.
It can mean, "To be engaged in an activity that is comfortable or pleasurable." Like...the cat is lying in the sun, feeling mysa (cozy)."
It can mean, "To be comfortable or content with something," or "To smile (with only slight movement of the mouth), particularly as a sign of contentedness or comfort."
Much of my work aims for this slight movement--a sign of contentedness, completeness, whether in darkness or light.
All work is available for purchase, printed with high-quality inks and archival papers.
I work in the SF Bay Area and Venice, Italy, shooting digital, 35mm and medium format.

"My past no longer exists. What remains are memories, upbringing and family stories. But these are unreliable as a fact.
Still, I make every decision for my future based on my past. "
Jasmijn Duterloo (1975, 's-Hertogenbosch), studied Commercial Design, next delved into photography and completed the Photo Academy in 2016.
In her work, time and identity play a big role. It often starts with a hitch in her past: a gap in its history and a memory of wich she doubts the authenticity. She gathers as much information, stories and ideas as possible. She moves herself literally in the situation by reenacting it and then films or photographs this.
