This piece is liquid watercolor on velvet, and is part of a series of works entitled soft side. The series responds to the current sociopolitical climate, in which it is still radical and dangerous for women to share their emotions and experiences. Morphing, impermanent colors mimic the artist’s chromesthesia, as well as the fluidity of emotion. Just as music supplements a feeling and an atmosphere, the soft side series is a soft, touchable portrayal of vulnerability. soft side encourages the viewers to re-sensitize.
