JOBLESS BUT HOPEFUL. Bacolod City Pubilic Plaza.
"I worked in a call center and was doing well but came down with pneumonia so they let me go. My medical insurance was not enough to cover my hospital bills. The house we rent has since been padlocked and we are now renting a room in a squatter area because it is all I can afford. We come here to the Plaza as often as we can because it is more peaceful here and we can sit under the trees all day. We go back to our room only for dinner and to sleep. He loves lying on my lap while I look for lusa (nits) in his hair. It puts him to sleep. My last checkup, I was told I might soon be fit to work again so I have applied with a different company. The pay isn't as good as my previous company but I am not complaining and I am hopeful again." #everydayphilippines #streetlife #family #jobs #society #dignity
