This quilt is called:
I decided to make a quilt using only Black fabric. The letters are pieced with the same fabric as the background making it hard to see the word since there is no contrast. The subject is around us, but is often not mentioned. It is like a whisper. It goes unnoticed until it stands out on a sea of white walls. Unless, you are this black quilt, you probably won't ever think about it or it's color. However, there is something provocative about this quilt because it makes you look closer and pay attention. The idea that this small, unimportant quilt can be considered art just like any other bright, colorful quilt might be shocking for some, but who can say that this is not a quilt or that it has less value than any other quilt? All quilts are made equal, regardless of color.
