This is the traditional Japanese festival held annually in Jakarta by community of Japanese expatriate in Jakarta and the owners of the establishments in the Izakaya district. Basically the event is about opening food and souvenir booth on the street along with cultural performances and Mikoshi parade.
The event is the best Japanese themed festival in Jakarta in my opinion because it actually invite the local Japanese community to enjoy the event. It's not just another anime or cosplay event.
Oh, and they serve beer and shochu.
The most interesting thing for me this year is the rain in the first day. I thought the parade would be cancelled. But as I'm enjoying my cup of warm shochu while hiding under tent, the parade rush in front of us and miraculously the rain stopped as they passes.
I bought a mask for Lilia.
