#busoushinki Pomock sitting on the Rocket Throne (allegiance: Decepticon)
Last week's event is a toy fair. Although I don't take part, this is from the Busou Shinki toy line collector group's booth.
Although I don't take part in the display, somehow everybody is late and I had to watch the stand for an hour.
This toy event is better than the usual because the organiser provide large floor space to communities. The more known local toy event is a sorry excuse to rent space to stores (resellers and distributors) rather than for the collector community. Floor space comparison might be 80-10 for commercial and community. The rest are event space.
Even so, there is one thing I still idolise from events in Japan. The time.
In Japan, even big trade event like Wonder Festival close on 17:00. This allow communities to then go on after parties together.
But here, because community are placed to attract buyers to the commercial space, we have to stay until closing hours on 10. After that, many members are already too tired to continue to party.
The other issue I noticed is that Indonesian creator community seems to be having too much pride to be "innovator", they want their own brand and product.
The event in Japan, at least those I saw report of, has many creators making products around established ecosystem. Not only garage kit figures, they are not worried about making toys and accessories that are compatible with existing toy lines such as the popular Figma, or Dolfie. This culture gave abundance of accessories for collectors there.
