A little while back I had told my son that his birthday was going to be here really-really soon and that he was going to be turning 3 years old and that we were going to have a huge party for him with all of his friends and that there was going to be pizza, cake, ice cream and all the presents he could imagine.
My son was clearly overjoyed with this news as he quickly ran out of the room yelling "HORAY! HORAY!". I have to admit, it was quite humorous. But then 5 or so minutes had passed and he hadn't returned to ask his usual '101 What and Whys' so I became a little worried (just as most parents do when children are too quiet).
So I got up to go look for him and this (see pic) is where I found him. He was just sitting there, hands folded, so calm and so quiet. I asked him, "Son, what are you doing?" and he replied, "Waiting for my birthday to come dada."
I literally smiled ear to ear when I heard this, but then sadly I had to break the news to him that his birthday was still a few weeks away.
