This year in creative writing has been an absolute blast! I remember in second trimester when I was in Mr. Sabo's office pleading to be taken out of Chemistry II B. He told me that I was fine to do that because I had all my science requirements, but that I would need to fill the empty space with some sort of elective. Throughout my whole high school career, writing had been made a chore by many teachers, so when I was suggested to take creative writing, my heart nearly fell to my feet. "Oh great, here we go," I thought, "another writing class with boring prompts and strict deadlines." However, upon walking into class on the first day of class and meeting you, I knew that this class would not be like any other I had ever had. You were hilarious and always cracking jokes (even if no one laughed) and making sure we all knew that creative writing meant we actually truly were able to be creative. From the very beginning we began doing fun assignments, like poems and eating food, where I was able to write for fun and just be myself. I can honestly say that you are one of my two very favorite teachers at school. You're so hilarious and understand my dry and sometimes weird humor. You allowed me to love writing again, after the idea of it was torn apart by years of standardized essays. My favorite pieces to write would probably be the poems. With poems it's so easy for me to be myself. I feel almost connected with the words and the rhymes just naturally come to me. For years in classes where I had to write I struggled so hard with being inspired, but in this class I didn't even need inspiration, my brain was just thinking so creatively, that the ideas came to me effortlessly. One part of class that I really liked was the recapper and sacred write aspect. The recaps allowed for us to get a little bit of reminder of what went on the previous day or if we weren't there that day we could get caught up. The sacred writes were so nice because it allowed the class to be different each day and made us think creatively to both come up with sacred write ideas and also to write about different topics. I wish that other classes could do some type of variation of this, something that's different every day to keep us stimulated and actively learning. Overall, I felt that this trimester was the best trimester I have had in my high school career so far. I can honestly say now that I love writing and sometimes even write outside of class (gasp)! I honestly wish that you could just teach all my classes because you're such a fun teacher to be around. You let the class have fun but you also enforce deadlines and keep us efficient! You've been a wonderful teacher and I'll miss you very much!
