@jenne Maybe this is where I will start talking to you.
Okay so recently I wondered about how Girl Meets World ever turned out. What I saw of the pilot gave me bad feelings but sometimes pilots of sitcoms are not great indicators. But most people reviewing it seemed to base it on the first episode and stopped right there (or that poor-quality trailer of the pilot and stopped right there).
Online, I watched a clip with father and junior Minkus, and it wasn't so bad. Then I SPEED-watched a non-pilot episode, "Girl Meets 1961," and... the flaws were there, and the feels were over the top, but god, they were trying, the scriptwriters. TRYING SO HARD NOT to NOT be Boy Meets World. They know they will let us adults down if they FAIL to be SOMEWHAT Boy-Meets-World-like. So they were like "let's have them play themselves back in time like the BMWorld gang did those couple of times!" THEY TRIED SO HARD.
One extra weird thing is at the end Cory is about to talk about 1963 and the I Have A Dream speech and THAT'S WHAT MY STUDENTS ARE DOING THIS MORNING.
I knew I was Feeny, but apparently since Cory is now also Feeny, apparently now I am also the elder Cory Matthews too.
Extra comment: That girl is trying SO HARD to be the daughter of Sean Hunter. She could not possibly be trying any harder even if Angela was her mother (if only).
So have you seen any of it? All of it? What are your thoughts
