They say politics is the science of good sense.
But what good is politics if it doesn’t make sense?
A good joke should make you laugh
but what good is a joke if it is elected?
The king has died so has the cause
leaving an heir to stir the air I suppose!
In a mosaic kingdom on the mouths of
Asia, Africa, and Europe, lived the people’s king.
Despite being loved by many, was hated by many.
And so death was his destiny, leaving his son his legacy.
Fast forward years later, the son is summoned in a hurry
taken with courtly guards to resign abroad causing fury.
His excuse for the resignation itself
as a positive shock was uglier than the fault itself.
An answer meant to bring clarity to ambiguity
brought ambiguity itself instead of clarity.
Stars realign overnight bringing awe or fright
but politicians interests don’t; except to bring plight.
Political factions align for elections and welfare
never by blackmail, media pressure, or public opinion.
Interpretations and expert opinions will change
but you can’t make demands after fact.
For a country living to please regional powers
to balance its local power struggles, shocks are bluffs.
For me, politicians are drama queens dancing popularity
on the anthems of ambiguity, controversy, and conspiracy.
There is no shock on elections’ deck of cards
just votes for aces, and empty promises.
One can’t expect prosperity, solidarity or humanity
when dealing with such monstrosity: greed's anarchy.
Everybody loves a good show given the laughs it gives
but I love truth’s clarity given the freedom it gives.
Placebos bring a temporary positivity
unlike changes' that define a government's reality.
For when greed laments its poverty
and showcases its hierarchy;
honesty shall be trampled by tendency!
This is why I choose reality over fantasy
as it respects mentality and serves actuality.
My country might never have stability
as it lacks accountability, a shocking positivity.
Everybody has heard of Lebanon’s current PM’s ordeal of being held in KSA, forced to resign, and how he returned with much more local support and sympathy thinking he could use that for electoral benefits and reshuffle power cards. The thing is you can not change alliances overnight or reclaim your faltering influence with a stunt. Let the media analyze or take sides but those inside have tested the waters not with the tip of their toes but by being fully submerged and opening their eyes to see what lies beneath the surface’s clarity.
