Flowers & Physics
Like energy, life can’t be created
or destroyed, just conserved;
such is the law of physics applied
to flowers, the promise of life
that can’t be taken or halted.
They lay dormant in winter
waiting for sunshine in summer.
They grow and bloom with water
thriving on land or on a river.
Weeds grow around them.
Trees grow tall and bear them.
Fruits come forth when they leave them
Bees feed on them just as humans use them
for romance and remembrance as an emblem.
Because they are energy set in beauty
to charge loss with love and death with life
their immortality is why we understand mortality.
You can’t kill what was made to give vitality.
A gun will give you the body of a bird never it's soul and such is a flower; picking it up will only give you shriveled petals not the flower!
