Plein Air Green
Hearts are boats sailing in pairs
on moving or still waters
under skies with shared colors.
Love makes these boats
one on greener waters.
In the beginning, a pair may race
or glide side by side with or against tide.
And as they gain pace, they learn to trace
their steps back and forth in every stride.
Vision is a light that keeps values
near shadows with respect to colors.
But minds work to raise natures
to make indoors closer and truer.
When value and color contrast,
let color relate to color.
For Life requires incredible eyes
for detail and creativity to amass
a boundless imagination set in ardor.
Relationships are canvases
so unique and personalized.
But canvases require artists
with well rounded skills
and balanced eyes for designs
with functionality and flairs.
Flair is the art of living
plein air style in existing.
There one learns how to paint
the outdoors while living indoors.
Love is a range of colors
on a palette of green hues
where years are vibrant finishes
in modern contemporary tones.
Adjustments in relationships
are like a palette that matches
in its ranges its artists.
Unrealistic expectations are dangers
that can be avoided by well seasoned artists
who consider compositions and drawings
and values while thinking about colors.
Managing relationships is like sorting
monochromatic foundations from
to break down processes
into manageable steps.
There color pigments are underpaintings
that form the first step for color strategies.
That ensures control for novice artists
who know that working with layers
in oil paintings prevents muddied surfaces.
Revamping canvases with fresh colors
in wet paints require thicker paints
than those in lower layers and soft brushes
that are flexible to light touches
dabbed in sufficient paints.
Only when both sky and water share colors
will two boats become one on greener waters.
For ocean waves are in constant motions
where light effects capture movements
as waves break, change colors and values
to gain height or thin out before breaking on sands.
Yet when a wave rises it becomes
a transparent window into the waves
themselves that turn greenish
until they pick up the colors of sands.
Stability is for still waters, from lakes to rivers.
They challenge artists to paint their reflections
as they are filled with sunsets or sunrise colors.
You can either use a mirror to model scenes
in perfect reflections or you can render masses
that are large and tonal instead of individual strokes.
Keep in mind reflections are born in greens
but are darker than the objects themselves.
This piece was inspired by the following quote: “Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.."- Pedro Calderon de la Barca
It is written in symbolism using steps of Plein Air Technique to explain relationships via two portraits by Michelle Held with well set greens. Plein Air is the technique that means painting outdoors.
Thank you for reading my piece.
