Happiness Made Not Found
She dusts her memories
with thoughts and prayers
for those she left behind.
Longing for them like ebb and tide.
She spins looms of love
laden with smiles and hope
And somersaults days into nights
tossing her old life into a new one
She may not be Dorothy
but she clicks her heels
until you hear her cares fall
This is how it feels to be reborn.
As she skips down the road
you can see good make out with bad
faster than her heart beats
to dreams lifting her spirit away
If you ask her where she’s going
she’d say unto better winds
for she has adjusted her sails.
Ahoy, she’s found her happiness
With only her hands for paddles
forward is her destination.
She steers faith’s rudder
to reason a truth that sets her free!
Come what may rain or shine
her smiles will unfold stories
only she can tell with strides
of happiness made not found!
"My dear,...In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that…In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back. - Albert Camus”
Sometimes the end is the new beginning and happiness must come first then reason will follow.
