Yemen My Heart Bleeds For You
Yesterday you were the land of Sheba and
Eram, the man made Eden but today your
Men, women and children die from famine, and
Every inch of you bleeds horror beyond my worst
Nightmares of rape, destruction and disease.
America has friends, Saudi has fears so
Massacres must be done, weapons must be sold!
Savages, uneducated radicals, that’s all you see
On TV, but did anyone read history?
Reality and truth may disagree but
Remember the land of riches and culture will always be
Yemen the land of Yomn and blessing.
Morality and humanity are now
Yesterday’s legacy, today’s oddity.
Heaven and hell are an earthly reality
Exclusively enjoyed by those with guns.
Aggression is entertainment making money
Ripping families, recruiting terror,
Tearing down homes, without shedding a tear.
Beasts in suits boast their colonial pursuits
Lying on TV to justify their deeds.
Even Pharaoh a God to his people met his
End on the hands of a boy who grew in his castle.
Do you think God is unaware of your doings?
So do your worst may you all perish as well;
For Pride is God’s robe and greed is making partners to God.
Of course you always win in this earth but
Reckoning isn’t that far.
You will meet the Aziz who will take you as such
Offing you like you never existed.
Under the skies we are all just slaves and He is Shahinshah!

Yemen is called Yemen because etymologically the ancient people used to refer to it as the land of "Yomn" which means the land of blessing and good tidings that befalls on believers.
It is the land of the first well known dams "Sad Maarib" the true cradle of hanging gardens. The land where King Solomon built his glass floored castle for his Queen of Sheba.
It is the land of a great city called Eram That Al Imad. The city was built by a king who lived to apply everything mentioned in God's books about heaven to defy God and God gave him 700 years to live and build it. Prophet Daniel visited this city and left his ring at its gates(ring with an image of him sitting between two lions). When the king finished building Eram and stood at its gates with his noisy parade God sent "Al Sayha" the loud noise that killed the king and his entourage.
Aziz in Arabic means the all powerful all mighty and the all reckoning. So when you wish for a tyrant's destruction you say may the Aziz take you akh-than Aziza. Which means may the All Mighty the All Powerful the All Reckoning give you an unforgettable reckoning.
Shahinshah in persian means king of Kings.
In most Abbasid and prior to that era illuminated manuscripts Yemeni scholars are mentioned for advances in Physics, music, philosophy, astronomy and architecture. In fact most of the translators that built the libraries of the Abbasid kingdom with translated Greek philosophy and mathematics books were Armenian and Yemeni translators. Everybody in the Middle East talks about the influence of the Ottoman rule in shaping today's Arabic music but no one remembers that most of the Turkish influence in string instruments and wind ones were originally tunes taught and passed down by Yemeni grandmasters. Today's Ahmed Al Shaiba who turned the Oud into an international phenomena by playing songs from Ed Sheeran, Sia, Michael Jackson and many more is a testament to Yemen's cultural contribution. Check out youtube to see what am talking about! What's remarkable is how loud lies and deception are but how silent and low key are victims and those who are right.
This piece is my tribute to Yemen and its people and I say to the world what Martin Luther King said : "The ultimate tragedy is not the oppression and cruelty by the bad people but the silence over that by the good people.
