One lifetime isn’t enough to describe this
Noble angel among humans we call mother.
Beneficence and compassion fill her heart with
Everlasting sacrifice through the hurt and cries
Intertwined with sweetness no honey can compare.
No fears no dangers can keep her from
Giving her all, her life, her strength, and her soul to her
All: her children, her world, and her reason to live.
Mother a word that moves mountains pulls souls
Out fire, breaths air into lungs when you’re drowning; the only
Truest form of love you can never buy, grow, teach, or learn.
Hearts are her throne, minds her books,
Eyes her home and beacons of light, a creature so
Right made for a world going so wrong to keep souls upright.
To walk in her shoes for one day is something you gotta choose
Old or young are not a qualification, just pure
Devotion, dedication, and a desire to show limitless
Affection with kindness for perfection and warmth for connection.
Yesterday, today, and tomorrow rest on her, the school of life and humanity.
Acrostic spelling: On Being A Mother Today
Inspired by my father's words:
"You'll never know how much a parent loves a child till you have one, but you'll never know what it is to be a parent till you become a mother"- M.K.
Thank you mom - this is for you M.C.K. I know now, having had and lost.
