i once carelessly caressed her hair between my ring and middle.
melancholy, reciting every inch i memorized.
from eyes to lips to collarbone to the birthmark on her chest.
and lord i've tried to count the reasons i adore her for so long, the numbers run together as smoked streamed from cigarettes.
the same brand she smoked from years passed.
past the diner where we first met and my lips first asked her to dance and our song cut short against my will as my will craved forever.
she's happier now or so her aura seems,
now once carelessly i now care infinitely if only from my dreams for i see her being as i remember seemingly oblivious,
she carries vital points of me
when she packed her bags.
when she packed her bags..
my first love and every inch i memorized was one a one way ticket to a house i could never make a home.
