Just got done putting up my next book, Greycoat Blueback, for pre-order on every site that will let me. What the hell is with Nook not having that option? This next one is different for me. It's an adult Dystopian, kind of like 1984 but told from the other side and with the oppressive government being on the other side of the aisle. I'm happy with it and hoping it does well. I even have a radio interview for it, but not until January.
So, now I am working on another book, a short that will be a pocketbook when it's done, that is also very much a departure for me. Just finished an edit, one more left I think. It's a satire, because apparently I can be funny when I'm also being angry. I've been told there is something in this one to offend everyone. To which I responded, people need to stop getting offended so easily. Anyway, here's the very long title and a sample for you.
A Brief and Literal History of the World
As told by Jesus H. Christ Esquire, Ph.D. of Miracles
To his esteemed friend Muhammad, Baron of Jerusalem
Conversation transcribes by Loki
As translated by Set
With informative interpretation by Krishna
That was just the title, here's the sample.
So, you know that my father, Yvx… Jegi… Iar… Yab S… oh hell. I cannot pronounce his name any better than the mortals can. That is not the point of this preemptive non sequitur though. Back to that point.
You know my old man is a Mexican baker and my mother was a prism. This easily explains two things about my existence that plague the minds of men, and have for the six thousand and two years that they, and the planet, have existed. First of all, it explains my predilection for showing my face on flat breads and baked goods. It also explains why black people see me as black, white folks as a dirty white hippie, Hispanics as a Latino (given more credence than the others because I borrowed one of their names), and the Jews see me as invisible. Oh, of course the Arabs see me as you, but some of the white people do too, it’s a skin tone thing.
Anyway, back to the point again. You know my father is a Mexican. If anyone really thinks about it they would figure that out. How else could he create an entire planet in seven days? That is a real work ethic, which he also created.
So I promised you a story. I will relate to you the important parts of the six thousand and two year history of the planet. The one our followers kill each other over, like there is not enough of it, and as if it were as valuable as oil, which obviously does not exist as the dinosaurs never roamed the Earth. Such money and blood spent over an illusion.
