What people say is true. There is this huge rush when I finish writing a book and ideas flood in. It is nothing compared to once I hit publish on all of the sites I'm sending a particular work out through.
Last night I finished putting a couple of books up on everything except Applebooks, I will avoid the rant about why for now. As soon as I did tons of ideas flooded into my mind, screaming me next! In spite of the fact that I am already working on the next book.
The big problem with all of this? Now I am spending a couple of days obsessively checking numbers and self promoting. When I told people I wanted to be an author they asked what I was going to do for my real job. Nobody mentioned the OCD, need to sell, and conflicting priorities between what you need to do and what you want to/must do. I'm glad they didn't or I might have stayed in the shadows.
So, if you find yourself being driven crazy by all the other crap that isn't writing, you are not alone. If you don't, maybe I am.
Okay, off to write and with all the ideas crowding into my head I may have to split up my writing time today.
