Gods and Mezcal
Allegory of an experience of the deep mind.
The Gods that inhabit my landscapes are spiritual beings, aware of their connection with universal energy, they are awake, sometimes they are entities of light or they play with it, float among the stars and defy the law of gravity, they can appear in a dream, deep meditation, astral travel or in a psychedelic or Shamanic experience
they are usually there to show us something. Something that is worth pointing out no matter how irrelevant it may seem.
My first motivation to paint is existentialist, it is a personal search for the meaning of life. I work with a magical intention because I believe that each artistic manifestation leaves an imprint on the universe and produces changes, by materializing our dreams we are influencing the great collective mind.
My paintings do not have a simple understanding , they can produce pleasure and in turn awaken complex sensations, that is why I try to be very precise when I work, not so much in terms of technique but in the balance of energies.
