A quick political observation in passing:
Trump says again that he'll hold out until he gets money for his border wall. His supporters start a fundraising campaign to raise money for the border wall, because that's what is needed. But that's not the whole problem. Even if the money is theoretically made available, the actual construction of a wall requires all sorts of approval from various offices, delegation of money, scrutiny from various branches of government offices... that's not the system being broken, that's the system of checks and balances working the way it's supposed to. The money needs to come from the proper sources, not just stuffed into envelopes and left on the doorstep. When the president doesn't convey this process effectively, we naturally get people who don't understand what the problem is and don't know why their efforts are in vain. When the president makes it a reductionist plea to fork over the cash, we are short-changing ourselves by playing into that fantasy.
