I'm here at Anime Expo cosplaying one of four characters over the weekend and I just enjoyed being a character that enjoy seeing. Just yesterday I dressed up as a female character and I had a blast. Everyone who recognized me loved it. Yes it's different, yes it's weird, I enjoy it. Simple as that. It inspires me because I get to inspire others. If I can make one small difference that is all that matters to me. I have made kids smile who got to hug a prop of mine, a lion plush. And their faces light up, that's all that matters to me. Me inspiring others inspires me.
Cartoon Network actually uploaded a photo of me onto a Facebook page and if you've ever noticed internet comments they aren't always kind. But I've had people come to my defense and say he's having fun what matters does it make he's not perfect or he's overweight or he wears glasses. As long as he's having fun that's what matters.
I have a polar bear plush given to me by a friend for a cosplay. She at the time, she's now a he, brought it over from Europe when she was visiting and said "I want you to have this for cosplay". It was perfect. I always treasure it and I still have it and it's perched right above my bed. His name is Kuma.
