Back in high school I was about the age of 16, from St. Louis Missouri and for some reason I desperately wanted to work for GAP Inc. But Banana Republic was hiring and I went and applied for the job and I had thought that I dressed the part but they told me after several rounds of interviews that I was too young to work for Banana Republic Corporate and I'm not too sure why. I never really followed up to see if that was the case or not. I didn't get the job and I was crushed.
It caused me to not work in the fashion industry. I work peripherally in it. I was pissed off. I was let down. I didn't understand why to bring someone back for several rounds of interview and then tell them a corporate policy that may or may not have existed, I was perplexed.
I have so many stuffed animals One is named Herald and he sits on the shelf. He comforts me. He allows me to be my true self and I think at that moment is when you achieve greatness.
He is part of my sanctuary I carry him in my heart.
