Mostly growing up and the whole thing and you notice yourself as different and it's not demonized really. It’s just that you notice it. You try to exclude yourself from it and you kind of justify people doing that. But I started to embrace my differences and celebrate what makes me different instead of what makes me like everyone else. And that's what inspired me to do Robin. He's technically the outsider of the Stan Lee characters. He's a young kid and everything. He's out here basically having fun rather than doing the whole grim dark, I'm going to serve justice. It's, I'm going to help people with a smile on my face. And that's kind of how I live my life; to live to help.
Sometimes you need some people who are similar to you. That's what drove me to seek out a fellow nerds. People who like comic books and cartoons and all that.
I have a stuffed Frankenstein doll his name is just Frankie. I was six when I named him. The thing about him is that he kind of stood out amongst the other toys. My mom said you can pick out one stuffed toy. There were a bunch of stuffed dinosaurs, stuffed whatever's and I noticed this one Frankenstein doll standing there and it stood out really. It was different. It was special to me because it was a little weird kid basically, which I kind of was also because of what I was into. I was into horror and comics. I kind of grew attached to it. He's a little oddball but he doesn't let that effect him. This is what makes me me. Not all things that are scary and different are bad, you know. In the book and the movie he's a torn monster himself. He looks scary but deep down he just wants some friendship. I kind of related to that. People thought that with me being that little, weird brown kid. I just want to talk to people. He just wants something that's really pure. It's just that everyone, all they see is something big coming their way.
