MUST WE FEAR THE DEVIL ?
It depends of what we understand by Devil. Commonly the Devil is understood as the summum of the bad, the temptation to follow a path leading to immorality, to the lack of Beauty, Justice, Good and Truth.
In the Religions, the Devil is the opposite of God- It is darkness whereas God is Light.
But there is another way of considering what it: One of the Devil's names is Lucifer, which in Latin means "The Bringer of Light". It was originally attributed to the star Venus, the star which precedes the Sun at dawn.
Some ancient Eastern wisdom related Venus to what is called "Dhyan-Chohans" or "Dhyani-Buddhas"- or to put it simply, to spiritual beings considered to be the Instructors of Humanity or at the least an archetypal representation of Wisdom.
Wisdom, or the Light, awakens the consciousness. It allows people to get out of the cave, be released from the slavery to ignorance. It makes us differentiate between Reality and Illusion. Light allows the individual to follow his own Path, even if this Path will be rejected by the many, who are still following the rules of Ignorance.
Because... well, look around you. Something should be wrong. Something IS wrong in our way of life. In the way we relate to each other, in the way we relate to the planet, in our priorities in life. Look at the leaders in many of our countries... are they really the best Humanity has to offer? Do they really set a personal example which we can follow?
If THIS is the norm, then I prefer the Wisdom of the Light, and I don't care how people who don't know- would call this light. Why fear enlightenment? Why fear to open the eyes and the consciousness? I want to find my own Lucifer, that's hidden inside me and follow its light on the Path called "Philosophy", the Love of Wisdom, the Path leading toward Light and Freedom.
