I am a midwestern airbrush & digital artist, working with metallic papers, high gloss aluminum, digital photography and fractal software to portray intense, candy-colored puzzles that look real but might not be. There are sensual layers, mysteries [why is her face looking away? why are there no shadows?] and a recognition that the viewer has seen something like this before. Is it a photograph of a tattooed woman? Is this a good thing happening? A bad or serious thing? I delight in pulling the viewer in closer to decipher the clues left in each piece. Titian and Botticelli painted these myths with the newest tools of their time. These newer versions are celebrating the women, the goddesses of the myths and the original artists.
