New photos in a classic medium are five words that describe my work. I think the most important thing to be, as a person, is to be authentic and true to yourself. I think as a photographer I try to make authentic photos of authentic people. In popular culture we think of nostalgia with equally positive and negative feelings. Whether it is the rose colored glasses we use to look back on a joyful past or as a dirty little liar that sits on our shoulder and tells you that things were worse than they seemed. The medium of instant photography documents my photographic endeavors as permanent, as unchangeable and as authentic. Capturing my subjects over the past half of a decade, I always try to mix in instant photographs, because they tell the truest tale. And I believe that's something we all desire.
