Thu FEB 05 6pm-8:30pm Important Public Meeting-Bonfires Ocean Beach, SF @ The Cliff House Terrace RoomFEB 05 6pm-8:30pm Important Public Meeting-Bonfires Ocean Beach, SF @ The Cliff House Terrace Room
My friends in San Francisco, You are invited to raise your voice in support of bonfires at Ocean Beach in what could be the last public meeting on this issue on Thursday February 5, 2015 at 6pm at The Cliff House Terrace Room in San Francisco.
Last year, the National Park Service almost banned beach fires and then agreed to conduct a pilot program that has now concluded after running for four months. They will soon be making long-lasting decisions about the future of bonfires at Ocean Beach, and we need anyone who cares about this great San Francisco tradition to join us in participating in this important meeting.
Burners Without Borders has been supporting the effort to keep bonfires alive at Ocean beach for the past nine years, working with the City of San Francisco and the NPS to find viable solutions to the challenges associated with fires.
BWB has 3 recommendations for the future of bonfires at OB.
1. Increase the number of fire pits to accommodate the demand from the public
2. Free and accessible access to the public with no permits required to have a fire
3. 10:00pm curfew for fires rather than the proposed 9:00pm
Join us in keeping fires alive at Ocean Beach! Everybody's voice will make a difference at this crucial meeting.
Thanks for your support.
