Julia Kwon (@juliakwon)
Julia Kwon sews interpretative bojagi—Korean object-wrapping cloths historically created since the early Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910)—and wraps hallow human-scale figures with them to comment on the objectification of Asiatic female bodies. Further, she embeds patterns from contemporary sociopolitical events to challenge the notion of authenticity and examine the complexities of constructing identity within the context of globalism, cultural hybridity, and intersectionality. Eric Perez (@ericperez)
I have always been attracted to vivid color, comic books, men and action figures. It is within collage that I have found my truest sense of expression and comfort. I have now gone about uploading most of my pieces organized by collections: Digital Pieces (2008 - 2011), QUEENDOM (2011 - 2017), Miscellaneous Pieces (2016 -2018) and now my latest collection from 2019: MANSCAPES. As of now I have 8 finalized pieces with one more planned before the end of the year. In 2020 I intend to launch a t-shirt line with my art pieces as primary graphics.
