It's funny that "where do you get your ideas" is a question so common as to be a cliché.
Ideas are easy. Easy, as in you take a moment to relax and they start to insistently ring the doorbell, and when you open the door they are standing there without a shirt on, wearing cut-offs and saying something lurid like "Did somebody order a pizza with extra salami?". Easy, as in you're walking down the street minding your own business when all of a sudden they appear directly in front of you over-enunciating in mock surprise "Oh, I dropped something" and bending over so their skirt deliberately rises up above their ass to show that they are full commando. Asking "where do you get your ideas" shows in itself how easy it is, because the questioner had the idea to ask the question.
The "idea guy", like the "conceptual artist", is just another term for "lazy shit". Ideas are everywhere. Execution can be excruciating.
My question is not "where do you get your ideas" but rather, "where do you get the time?"
