'Access' is a series of photo-collages created in response to a trip I took to Slovenia. What I remember most about my time there was the open space and the freedom I felt to walk anywhere at any time. No one stopped you from walking through or sitting in privately owned fields and you wouldn't necessarily know the land was privately owned because there was almost no fencing.
Living in London, you are constantly aware of privately owned spaces and that you are being watched by cameras and security in order to keep control of them. However in Slovenia you are trusted and allowed to go where you please. To demonstrate this sense of freedom I created photo-collages from photos I have taken on previous travels, including the photos I took in Slovenia, and made compositions with various symbols of 'accessibility'.
