Catching Up on Priorities
Watson & I spend the back nine at McNaughton making small talk. We drive home in silence except for when we lament about the Real Life stuff we have to do when we get home.
"Hey," I say as he's getting out of the car. "Tomorrow night's Safe and Sound Check is going to feature Elevator Music from the 70s. So be there if you are feeling it."
"Depends on the weather, Brother, but it sounds promising." He shuts the door. "I'll get ahold."
The Sunday Night Safe & Sound Check came about by accident thanks to some of my dad's special brownies. Glassy, Watson & I had converged on the living room to discuss the disaster that was the previous night's Dungeons & Dragons session over a few leftover edibles. Listening to random bands via the World's Most Popular Video Site EVER.
For a few hours, we just sat there, chilling. Not necessarily baring our souls, but the kind of conversation one might expect out of three single guys sitting around smoking a bowl after the baby goes to bed.
I look forward to Sunday nights.
