Why do we like watching flame dances? Or water flows? It feels so mystically, so hypnotizing. Even at the dawn of our era those processes were eyecatching. I personally think its because people are able to see some major pattern of our world, maybe even general one.
But at first let me tell you a story I heard in lecture called "The 4 Dreams of Man: The Dramatic Story of the Shape of Things to Come" by Dr. John Furbay.
It is about a bug who spend his entire life in the worlds most beautifully designed persian rug. All the bug ever saw in his lifetime were his problems. They stood up all around him. He couldn't see over the top of them, and he had to fight his way through these tufts of wool in the rug to find the crumbs that people had spilled on the rug. And the tragedy of the story of the bug in the rug was this: that he lived and he died in the world's most beautifully designed rug, but he never once knew that he spent his life inside something which had a pattern. Even if he, this bug, had even once gotten above the rug so that he could have seen all of it, he would have discovered something - that the very things he called his problems were a part of the pattern.
Even through most of the people lately says "world is a total mess", we are still able to go through it. Just because we can see patterns in a chaos we are able to sort things out and get above this rug. And I think we are evolving because we like to watch water flows, and this attraction makes us see more, feel more than any other kind of fauna on Earth. Always try to find a pattern and always try to see from above, its how people are making this world better. Its how you can make your own life better.
