The motorcycle I learned to ride on, a 1978 Yamaha XS750 triple.
Shaft driven, three inline cylinders, and factory paint in primo condition.
She was heavy but once you got going you could really go.
I attempted to ride this bike from Lancaster, PA out to Boulder, CO in the summer of 2010. She made it to Chicago before deciding to quit. I eventually did get the bike to Boulder (on a trailer).
I still remember a ride that year from Boulder to Nederland on 119 after midnight. The canyon road is curved in a way that you can peg the throttle at 55 and just get into this left-right-left leaning rhythm. It gave me a feeling of complete calm and focus.
