Steamed pork buns were pretty awesome. I like what I came up with after having read a number of different recipes... then throwing them out. lol
Keep the principles, the techniques and understand the absolutely necessary components and then do as thou wilt.
My version of Char Siu (aka chinese bbq pork) Has been a big hit with the family. I kept getting frustrated at the lack of quality Chinese food in my area. Everything is sticky sweet and no one seems to concentrate on the earthy deep hunan tastes or the wonderfully spicy szechuan.
With one large Butt roast of pork I made steamed pork buns, double cooked pork, pork fried rice and had loads of beautiful sliced bbq pork to simply enjoy with some extra hoisin sauce or pop in a sandwich.
