I can not believe the range of emotions I'm feeling just knowing Aaron and Hala are at Hala's first concert.
She loves to sing. She sings LOUD and PROUD in the shower, in the car, during choir at school. She's got her headphones on all day and night and nine times out of ten she has music playing over whatever game she's got on or even OVER a video.
I've loaded and re-loaded her iPod with whatever she asks for...there have been phases that include a lot of Disney stars.
But for the past year or so, I've watched her taste in music mature. When she discovered Lorde she was hooked from the first note.
I've asked her, as other big acts have come to town, if she had any interest in seeing them in concert. I get shoulder shrugs. And 'eh..nah.'
Then I asked when I saw Lorde would be performing at the Greek.
Her eyes got huge. HUGE. YES. YES.
...ok but it's going to be a school night and you'll need to .. YES YES YES.
It's been nothing but Lorde on the iPod for two weeks. Nothing but Lorde in the shower, at the top of her lungs. And tonight as I drove her down to meet up with her Dad, the resident music man, I had to put Lorde on in the car.
She belted out every song as we drove.
So now I sit here, knowing they are on their way home, and I'm wondering if she was overwhelmed. If it was all she thought it would be.
If her and her father had the first of many great music experiences together.
I will try not to grill them too much when they get here...and let her go to sleep. She does have school tomorrow. lol
