"Kabhi kabhi lagta hai apun hi bhagwan hai"... These are my favourite lines from my recent favourite show SACRED GAMES streaming on Netflix India, watch it to get the context. Mithoo is a common pet name given to parrots (I really don't know why), also if you notice some of our folk paintings share this imagery of a woman speaking to her best friend -again a parrot ... so this is my rendition of power and agency as it shifts to The Indian Parakeet which is recurrent theme in our mythology depicting Kama or love
Culturally speaking stalking was never cool as romanticised in our folk narratives. This ink art is inspired by the Kalighat painting style of West Bengal. If we look back at the images of Krishna, (a Hindu diety) he was celebrated to be notorious and in those traditional paintings women were looked at and objectified in certain ways, in this comic I reverse the plot, what if these women spoke!
