Little House on the Prairie...
I'm trying something a bit different for me 'art-wise'... and am progressing reasonably happily, so far, with an 'imaginative' view of a small farmstead in the mid-West, set under an approaching storm. I'm going to include a typical wind-pump and small water storage tower, maybe a barn, and a wooden-decked dog-leg path leading down to the foreground through tall dry pampas grasses. That's the current idea anyway!
This composition has come about by reusing an 80 x 80 cms canvas on which about a year ago I'd roughed-in a plain blue sky, brown earth, and nothing else... so it was going absolutely nowhere as it was. After quite a bit of scratching, scraping and sand-papering, today I blocked-in the basis of storm clouds and a house. The close-up detail shot of the building is rather cruel... but, it's an impression and still has work to be done. In fact there's a lot of work still to be done, but having little else to post this afternoon I thought what the hell... expose my technique and live with it!
