Fascinated by the world around me and the silent stories of both physical and natural spaces, I make images of the scenes that people encounter daily but often fail to really “look at” or even notice.

With the ubiquitous digital image taking centre stage and the decline of the printed photograph, Charlie (a british artist based in Montpellier, France) presents the printed photograph as a thin receipt or a fossil…a half truth, a trace, possibly a clue to the past.
“I never liked photography,” Robert Mapplethorpe is quoted as saying, “Not for the sake of photography. I like the object. I like the photographs when you hold them in your hand.”

Magaki is a creative space. We design original projects around books and paper.
We created "Fragments". The project "Fragments" was born as a game, as an exchange between authors. The principle ? Each author selects photographs and sends them to another. Then the author must reinterpret and divert them.
"Clic clic clic" is a black and white portrait project taken by surprise.
