Project: ' Light Up LA ' In this project Raquel Natalicchio uses Urban Light Painting, a self-taught technique in which the camera moves instead of the light source . By using the lights of the city in the buildings, streets and sky as a paintbrush, Los Angeles lights up in a brand new and engaging way.
Artist Bio: Raquel Natalicchio is an international photographer and journalist, her style, personality, and ability to climb anything in her path have put her in the forefront of street photography.
. Raquel strives to “bring a uniquely creative and positive light into capturing every day magic and artistic activism that will give hope and inspire people.” She has curated and organized several of her own solo exhibits and events: Angel City Brewery DTLA, and Culture Collide in LA's bicycle District, She has also been featured in Miami Art Basel 2016, Photo LA 2017, Night On Broadway 2017 with the Ace Hotel , Los Angeles Center of Photography, "Her" honoring Women's Month with the City of Los Angeles and DTLA Art Districts 'Beyond the lines' art show. Her work has been published in four issues of Urban Cyclist Magazine from the UK, local and online news sources such as DTLA Times and CNN, She has worked as a staff photojournalist for Happening in DTLA, and is currently showing at galleries through out the US. This year she has published her first book 'Spray for Peace' , a compilation of stories and messages from thirty years worth of graffiti legends to the next generation of young street artists.
