THE DEVIL YOU KNOW
You need to get out. Your comfort zone is not the place to stay. If you even have an inkling that you are not where you should be or that you’re not all you could be, get up! Go out into the world. Get some independence, get driven by the need to do something that you actually want to do. No development, personal or otherwise happens in your comfort zone. You need a different stimulus to develop.
This comes down to getting more self aware. You need to spot when you’re getting complacent. What drives you? What could you do for hours and not be bored doing? What could you change? Is it your job? Your routine? Your friends? How can you develop? You you need to take leaps in life that will serve to benefit you beyond belief, it’s doing the things that make you feel uncomfortable at first that will help you grow the most. For me this is in the form of quitting my job, booking a one way flight to Thailand with my friends to go and work for a while. Far beyond what I’ve been told is safe, I need this for me and I’m beyond grateful for everyone who supports me. .
School, college, your job, relationships, habits or routines can be the things that you need to shake up and change. Put yourself out into the world and understand that the goal is development. The devil you know is still a devil. Dip your toe in the pool of chaos and learn to grow.
