(the world of things resonating with one another)
To build a great artistic community, there has to be a great amount of transparency. One way to gain the public’s trust is by giving them a look at your brands inner workings. The art world is no exception.
But for transparency to “work” the community members should be just as open.
And that begins by breaking down the monocultural hierarchy of global art, embracing alterity, through the mix and intertwining of peoples and cultures brought of the margins into the centre.
Creating a creative community of diverse art and artist working together to examine, uncover, unmask, expose, reveal, reflect, illustrate, create and comment on art and practice through a language of transparency that translates into visual works like the community they’re created in are at once autonomous and linked to everything else.
So this piece “The Space In Between is representative of artistic transparency. Enjoy
The Spaces In Between
“… What we tried so hard to hide away Blinding light illuminates the scene Try to fill "The Spaces In Between"
Song by How to Destroy Angels
Transparency is showing ones Authentic true self, it’s
substantive contents - easily perceived and that can mean being open to public scrutiny. We get the term “being exposed” with its all too many negative connotations.
It can also facilitate a free and open exchange of ideas and information between individuals, communities, collectives, cultures, etc; in the most positive ways. Because when we are true to ourselves we can be true to others, when we appreciate and respect ourselves we can appreciate and respect others. When we can love ourselves,we can love others, when we are good to ourselves we can be good to others.
We then operate as a diverse, inclusionary, collective of creative equals.
And this all begins by becoming transparent, freeing ourselves from our (exclusionary) opaque world, and oftentimes self imposed bonds of secrecy.
This digital collage visualizes the work of a dissection abstracted into forms of fluid colors, and contrasting lights.
Artist in ancient times used the principle of repeating patterns to create the illusion of transparency,
reveling in the spaces in between.
Finding value, in “the sum of the parts” Each individual part, distinctive, necessary and important.
When you think about it everyone of us are the poster children for the whole diversity, inclusion, and equality movement! And if the microcosm is a reflection of the macrocosm and visa versa! What’s all the fighting about?
It’s all as “CLEAR” as day....
Reminds me of one of my favorite Barbara Streisand song.
(Now I’m dating myself)
On A Clear Day
On A Clear Day (You Can See Forever)
On a clear day
Rise and look around you
And you see who you are
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines every star
You'll feel part of
Every mountain, sea, and shore
You can hear from far and near
A world you've never, never heard before
And on a clear day
On that clear day
You can see forever, and ever, and ever
And ever more
