As a self taught visual artist i work primary with recycled materials, because they speak to the issue of sustainability and the trtransformative power of art. Not only for the artwork but the artist as well. My medium is abstract figurative sculpting. The series that I'm currently working on is based in part on figurative abstraction as seen in African art with the pieces are representative of "religious" iconography, traditional mythology and legends. Particularly African saints and angels that were venerated at the dawn of Christianity. Most notable Saint Maurice, the moor, a patron saint of the Holy Roman Emperors.
Materials used vary from reclaimed snow tire cables, cable link's, recycled industrial metals, glass tubing, steel wool, and sheddings from Sycamore trees.
